The Artists’ Collection is a deeply personal collaboration, born from a family creative process. After an injury made it impossible for Vanessa to draw, she worked closely with Nicholas, Rose and Flora, curating their sketches into considered designs, before bringing everything together through colour and composition.

A family affair

The Artists' Collection is the result of a collaborative family effort. In January 2017 after a fall that left Vanessa with two broken arms (making it impossible for her to even hold a pencil), she worked with her husband, Nicholas, and daughters Rose and Flora, curating their sketches and translating them into workable patterns and scales.

Vanessa adds: "I was able to enjoy the last part of the process - choosing colours for the new designs, pulling them together, and make them compatible with my other collections."

Designs include a wonderful large bird print called In Full Flight as well as By the Sea, an illustrative print design by Nicholas who drew inspiration from a trip to St Ives.
