Why choose Shibori-style fabrics?

The Artisan Collection is comprised of simple geometric fabrics which were inspired by the 8th century Japanese art of Shibori. Vanessa's original designs were created by folding, shaping and compressing fabrics by hand and then immersing them in a traditional indigo vat. You can never totally control the process and so the results are always unique and the designs are only revealed when the fabric is unwrapped; a true joy of Shibori.

Artisan's striking motifs involve daringly bold new colourways of Indigo and also multi-directional, all over prints - a new departure for Vanessa when this collection was first released!

Please ask for fabric samples and see the colours in your rooms. If you order a half metre returnable sample you can drape them over your existing shades, or just in situ to where the shade will go, and see how it looks.

All our fabrics are printed in the UK on a good weight of Linen Union, making them suitable for lampshades, curtains, blinds, cushions, and upholstery. We hold a good stock of all our fabrics ensuring delivery is usually within 3-5 working days subject to availability. The same team who takes your order will roll, inspect and cut it, so accuracy and quality can be assured.
