Each bespoke curtain set you order will be beautifully handmade for you by professionals in our traditional workshop based in the UK. They are finished by hand with great care and attention and delivered to you well within eight weeks of completing your order.

Which shades of blue do you have in your fabric range for curtains?

Blue is a favourite colour for many people and is the most preferred by men. It calls to mind feelings of calmness and serenity; research has shown that people are more productive in blue rooms!

There are of course many different shades of blue as with all colours; from the cooler shade of Cornflower and Indigo to the softer shades of Powder blue and Speedwell. Cornflower has a 'blue jeans' tone and more of a presence, looking wonderful in a larger room and hallways.

A softer tone of the above colour is Soft Cornflower, a relatively new colour that Vanessa brought out in her Forest Collection. This has been included in many two-tone designs, making it quite versatile and easy to use with current and previous collections. 

Our Teal blue is a warmer blue with a little bit more yellow added in, turning it towards the greens and making it a popular choice for blue curtains in day rooms such as a kitchen: Up the Garden Path, By the Sea, and Cow Parsley, just to name a few, are designs that all come in this colour along with stripes and spots to coordinate.

Next comes a lighter tone and Vanessa's favourite, a Chinese blue called Powder Blue, seen in Fruit Garden and In Full Flight, with coordinates Pretty Maids.

Speedwell is a soft and gentle tone making pretty blue curtains for bedrooms and bathrooms, especially exemplified in Wild Fern, Fern and Dragonfly, Little Fern. Vanessa added a little yellow to the Speedwell so it has a very unqiue undertone to it. 

For very soft grey blues, we move into the ever-popular Duck Egg. This colour is quite hard to describe but wonderful to live with. Our Cow Parsley print is the most popular design in this shade, but there are quite a few others for you to choose from!

The darkest blue we have is Indigo which is mainly seen in Vanessa's Artisan Collection.

Cloud is a very soft blue that was integrated in Vanessa's Wild Garden Collection. This is a perfect option if you are wanting to brighten a space up. 

What other colours do blue curtains go well with?

There are many other colours you can team with blue, namely Saffron yellow, Raspberry red, Tangerine, and Damson pinks. These are all warm colours which complement the cooler blue so well.

We combine these colours already for you in the following designs, in particular: Pretty Maids, Stockholm Stripe, Fruit Garden, May Blossom, and Lattice Leaf.

You can also add in the second colour through upholstered furniture, blue cushions, or even in a  blue fabric covered lampshade or bed quilt.

All these can be made for you through our Made to Measure service. Please ask for fabric samples and see the colours in your rooms. If you order a half metre returnable sample you can drape them over your existing shades, or just in situ to where the shade will go, and see how it looks.

All our fabrics are printed in the UK on a good weight of 100% Linen, and Linen Union, making them suitable for lampshades, curtains, blinds, cushions, and upholstery. We hold a good stock of all our fabrics ensuring delivery is usually within 3-5 working days subject to availability. The same team, who takes your order will roll, inspect and cut it, so accuracy and quality can be assured.
