Made to Measure Curtains

There are no rules for choosing fabrics for large modern windows but many of our prints are particularly suitable for curtains fitting onto large modern windows. Many of our designs have a contemporary feel. With the scale of a large modern window, it would be good to bear in mind the scale of the design you choose. Our largest patterns are Herbaceous Border Detail, Cow Parsley, Fern and Dragonfly, and Up in the Air, . It is important to choose light coloured fabrics and avoid heavy or bulky materials, that help to enhance the natural light provided by large modern windows.

Calm and airy stripes are always a good choice such as Lapland Stripe and Simple Ticking Detail.

As far as the best way to dress a large window, we would suggest a rail with a pull cord so you can draw the curtains open more easily; alternatively, a good quality pole that has been well waxed to aid the opening and closing of the curtains. Interlining is essential to add body to the curtains and they must be full length!

If you order a half metre returnable sample you can drape it over an existing chair or pin it to your present curtains and see how it looks. All our fabrics are printed in the UK on a good weight of 100% Linen, and Linen Union, making them suitable for lampshades, curtains, blinds, cushions, and upholstery. We hold a good stock of all our fabrics ensuring delivery is usually within 3-5 working days subject to availability. The same team, who takes your order will roll, inspect and cut it, so accuracy and quality can be assured.
