What shape of Lampshade should I choose for my dining room?

Both Empire lampshades which illuminate mostly from the bottom and drum shades which provide a medium amount of light from both ends make perfect lampshades for your dining room.

Light coloured shades are best at lighting an entire room, while darker ones tend to funnel the light and make a more dramatic statement.  

A dining room is a place where you can make a more dramatic statement. A low hung darker shade funnelling the light down onto the table would be really stunning. The choice of fabric obviously depends on your décor, but we have plethora of colours to choose from. A large low hung drum shade with a diffuser if you wish to hide the bulb would be a good choice.

Which of your fabrics make good made to measure lampshades for a dining room?

Fabrics such a Pretty Maids and May Blossom suit being made into lampshades, being multi directional all over dotty prints.

Stripes such as Stockholm Stripe and French Ticking make very bold, smart and striking made to measure lampshades for dining rooms.

What colours would you choose for a lampshade in a dining room?

We would favour warm colours for dining room walls, curtains and lampshades, such as Damson, Terracotta, Peach and Raspberry.
