Made to Measure Roller Blinds
Roller blinds for living rooms can help transform your lounge or sitting room into a space you can be proud of. Choose from fabrics that are perfect for creating living room roller blinds and get a fabric that offers a modern contemporary feel or choose something to create more classic, traditional roller blinds.
Choose a roller blind with a matching pelment for a perfect relaxing and socializing space in your living room. They may contain furnishings such as a sofa, chairs, footstools, bookshelves, lamps, rugs, or other furniture.
Our fabrics are suitable for all styles of living room, from contemporary to traditional. It is important to have a balance between blinds and curtains in a room so you don’t feel there are too many curtains, but enough to feel cosy and provide some elegance. Sometimes people choose Roller Blinds for smaller windows, and blinds as well as curtains in large windows for extra colour and window dressing. Dropping down Roller Blinds is much easier and quicker than drawing curtains.
Which fabrics are best for modern living room roller blinds?
The Artisan Collection, with designs such as Origami, Shibori, Momo, and Japonica, all create a modern feel.
Which fabrics can I choose from your range for a traditional living room?
Herbaceous Border Detail and Cow Parsley are amongst many of our beautiful floral linens that offer a more traditional feel. All these main prints have matching and coordinates for covering the sofas, chairs, and footstools. If you're unsure about what colour palette to use in your room/re-upholstery/soft furnishings etc, then why not book a free of charge video call with our Design Consultant? With a keen eye for colour and design, she can help discuss your upcoming projects over an informal video call.
You can also use our Made to Measure service to make your Roller Blinds, and have some matching lampshades or cushions made for your sitting room too.
Pros of choosing Roller Blinds:
GREAT FOR INSIDE A RECESS – Roller Blinds are a great option if you want to install a blind inside a recess because they are really easy to fit, lightweight, practical, easily adjustable with beaded chains (or ivory cord), and visually very stylish.
PELMETS - if you have your blind inside a recess, you can choose to have a smart, perfectly pattern matched pelmet that covers the roll at the top revealing the reverse lining; this is approximately 11 cm deep. It has revolutionised the use of Roller Blinds, making them much more attractive and usable in all rooms of a house!
MAXIMUM LIGHT – if you want to allow in as much natural light as possible, Roller Blinds may be the better option over Roman Blinds. With Roller Blinds, the fabric rolls up at the top of your window, taking up about 9 cm of space.
CENTRAL PULL – with a Roller Blind you can have a centre pull which can be handy on a window behind the kitchen sink. This comes with an ivory coloured cord and wooden acorn.
LOWER MAINTENANCE – once you have pulled up a Roman Blind you sometimes have to handle the folds as they can get caught in the cords, you don’t have this problem with Roller Blinds. It is just one piece of fabric that is adjusted with either a continuous beaded chain to either the left or right hand side of the blind, or as previously mentioned, a centre pull.
TREATMENT OPTIONS - We offer three different finishings on our Roller Blinds: Laminate, Blackout, and Processed. The laminated backing is a lining bonded onto the face of the fabric (no lamination takes place to the face fabric). Blackout is an off-white lining, which again is bonded to the fabric but is ideal for privacy. And Processed is just the fabric on its own with that has a clear stiffening spray applied to it for rigidness.
STYLISH IN DESIGN - You have a lot of creative freedom when it comes to the finished look of your Roller Blind. In addition to a pelmet, you can also add a 5 cm contrasting bottom border. Any of our other fabrics can be used for this, for example Gypsy Garland in Dove, with a bottom border in Stockholm Stripe - Dove, Winter. You could also opt for a Plain Linen Union in Saffron border instead, to go with the Gypsy, depending on the other colours in your room. The choice is yours to coordinate as you see fit!
Also, if you can’t reach the top of the window at all easily, a Roller Blind with a pelmet to hide the roll might be the right choice as you will have no need to reach the top ever. The maximum size for roller and roman blinds is 240cm x 240cm.
